DJ Sapphire was born in Derby to Jamaican parents and moved to the big city, London, in 1994. She was a singer in a few bands from 1996 and will still performs now and again. Her DJ career started in 2013, specialising in Smooth Jazz. In 2017 she joined Real Music FM as a radio presenter and in November 2019 moved to London’s number one soul station, The Soul Of London. She is the founder and host of the Smooth Jazz Lounge which takes place at various venues in and around London. This is an event where people attend to hear live music (jazz, soul and a touch of reggae) and enjoy the ambience surrounded by sophisticated people. During the pandemic, The Smooth Jazz Lounge took place via Zoom and a lot of people were grateful to be able to escape from the daily Covid-19 news and hearing the musical stories of many great artists! DJ Sapphire also plays Neo-Soul, RnB, Afrobeats, Reggae, Soulful House, Zouk, Hip-Hip and Pop music. She has played at various venues in London, Derby, South of France at the St Louis Festival, thanks to London Soul band, the Bad Girls Groove, who DJ Sapphire travels with.
DJ Sapphire is excited to be DJing at the Afrikan Festival in June 2022 and is looking forward to seeing you all!
